Rodent Control in Norwich
Advanced Pest Control can safely deal with the baiting and trapping of rats or mice from your home or business premises. We operate in the Norwich area and our pest control operatives cover all of the Norfolk.
To provide an effective treatment for Rats or Mice depends on the correct identification of the pest, this will be carried out upon inspection of the property.
A mental risk assessment will also be carried prior to the location of any bait points or traps for the purpose of Children/ Pets and Health & Safety risks.
Rodenticide:
Anticoagulant poison is placed in trays or in bait stations and placed at all areas of concern. Break back traps are also used in areas, which the rodent uses frequently. Catching a rat or mouse on a trap kills it quickly but cannot catch more than one rodent at a time. Poison is long-term method for those rodents that are more wary of the trap.
A follow up visit will be required in approximately 21-28 days after the initial visit. All left over bait will be removed under current health & Safety Regs. Any Rodents, which are found, will be also removed from site.

Signs of a Rodent
- Droppings: All rodents leave droppings which are dark brown in colour various sizes:
- Rat: 10-14mm
- Mouse: 2-5mm
- Noises: Generally heard scurrying around in lofts, walls and under floors
- Damage: Rats teeth are very strong and are continually growing. They will knaw at most items and create much damage:
- 1. Plastic
- 2. Wire
- 3. Wood
- 4. Brick
- 5. Lead
- Odours: All rodents urinate leaving a particularly strong smell especially in enclosed areas.
- Burrows: Rats will dig tunnels in garden and compost heaps.
- Nests: Rodents will set-up home almost in any place from kitchens to garages and even in cars. Nests are usually made from shredded paper or fabric material.
Life Cycle
- Rats − Ratus Norvegicus The life expectancy of a rat is approximately 18 months in which the female may breed up to five times producing 5-7 youngsters each litter.
- Mice − Mus Domesticus The life expectancy of a mouse is approximately 12/24 months in which the female may breed up to ten times producing 5-7 youngsters per litter.
